What is your favorite sport to watch? Do some research and find out when the sport was first started and where. How does it compare to the contemporary version?
Does your sport have a professional association? What is it? If not, what is the highest level of competition your favorite sport offers? Do some research and find out when it the profession association or highest level of competition started. How does it compare to the contemporary version?
Who is your favorite athlete? Where are they now? How did they start their athletic career? Do some research on this person then create a poster to show everything you have learned.
How is the score kept for your favorite sport? Learn how to keep score then practice while watching a game/match on television.
Follow your favorite team/player for 2 weeks and record their wins and losses. Keep a journal of their scores, great plays, etc. If possible, collect newspaper articles that discuss the games/matches.
What careers and professions are associated with your favorite sport? Do some research on at least 3 different professions within your favorite sport that interest you and present them to your troop/group.
Attend a professional game/match of your favorite sport.
What collectibles are there for your favorite sport? How long has there been collectibles for this sport? What are the values of these collectibles? Start your own collection of memorabilia of your favorite sport and show it to your troop/group.
Is your favorite sport played in the Olympics? If so, how does the version played in the Olympics compare to the professional version? If not, pick a sport that is played in the Olympics and compare it to a professional sport.
What sports offer both men’s and women’s versions? What are they? How do they compare? Pick one and research the women’s version.
Being a #1 fan can be a full-time job. Research a few dedicated fans and find out how long they have been a fan of their sport and what they have done to show their support.
