Visit a stable. Find out how much and what kind of food the horses eat daily. If possible, help feed the horses at least once.

Safety Rules: Learn and practice basic safety rules for the following situations:

• 1. At the stables
• 2. During mounting
• 3. During dismounting
• 4. While riding

Grooming: Learn the correct way to use a brush and curry comb. If possible, help brush down a horse.

Riding: Watch the correct saddling and bridling of a horse. Assist in this process, if possible. Learn how to:

• 1. Mount a horse
• 2. Dismount form a horse
• 3. Ride at a walk
