1.)Pick a minimum of 10 of these. Find out what they are, how they are different, how they are the same.
clairvoyant: someone who is clairvoyant
coven: a group or meeting of witches
enchanter: someone who uses magic on people or things
enchantress (literary): a woman who uses magic on people or things
exorcist: someone who gets rid of evil spirits for other people
faith healer: someone who uses prayer to make sick people well
fortune-teller: someone who looks at your hand, a special set of cards, etc. in order to tell you what is going to happen to you in the future. This activity is called fortune-telling.
healer: someone who is believed to be able to cure people who are sick, using special powers
illusionist: a performer who does magic tricks that make people or things appear and then disappear
inyanga (south african): a traditional healer, especially one who uses herbal medicines
magician: someone who is believed to use magic to make impossible things happen
medicine man: a Native American who is believed to be able to control the powers of the spiritual world and cure and prevent illness
mind reader: someone who knows what someone else is thinking
palmist: someone who claims to be able to tell you about your future by examining the lines on your hand. This activity is called palmistry.
psychic: someone who has a mysterious power that lets them know what other people are thinkingand what is going to happen to them
rainmaker: someone who uses magic powers to make rain fall
seer (literary): someone who knows what will happen in the future
snake charmer: someone who can control a snake’s behavior by playing a musical instrument
soothsayer: in the past, someone who people thought was able to say what would happen in the future
sorcerer: a man who uses evil spirits to do magic in stories
sorceress: a woman who uses evil spirits to do magic in stories
warlock: a man who has magic powers, especially a man who uses these powers to do evil things. A woman who has magic powers is called a witch.
witch: a woman in stories who has magic powers. A man with magic powers is usually called a wizard.
witch: a real woman who claims that she has magic powers
witch doctor: a man who uses magic powers to try to cure people who are sick. This word is now considered offensive by some people and it is more polite to say traditional healer.
wizard: a man in stories who has magic powers
2.) What would it be like to be immortal? Do you think this is possible now or will ever be possible?
3.) Traveling between dimensions. Do you think it could be possible to travel? What would it take to do so?
4.) Find someone who has 2 moms and 0 dads and talk to them about their life. Find out how they feel about not having a father. What is it like to have two mothers? Do they all live together? Would they like to?
5.) If you could become a fairy tale character, who would it be and why? Share with your troop/friends.
6.) Heart of the Truest Believer. What does this mean to you? Who do you know in real life that could have this title?
7.) Write your own fairy tale. Consider what makes a fairy tale a fairy tale. Does it always have a happy ending? Why/why not? What would happen if you wrote a fairy tale from a villian's point of view? Share it with another Scout.
8.) Decide where Storybrooke should be. How could this happen? What is the terrain of the surrounding area? Would you want to live there? Why/Why not? Share with your troop/friends.
9.) Memory. What would you do if something happened to you and you forgot who you were? How would you try to get your memory back?
10.) Pick a fairy tale and modernize it. How would it be different? How would it be the same? Share with your troop/friend.
