Florida

Flower – Do all starred and 2 cities/special locations.

Triangle – Do all starred and 3 cities/special locations.

Circle – Do all starred and 5 cities/special locations.

Rectangle – Do all starred and 7 cities/special locations.

For each requirement that has Living & Learning options, choose either the Living or Learning option, or a combination of both, within the requirement.

1. *Find out what Florida’s state flag looks like. Also find out the state location on a United States map, state shape, state seal, state capital, state nickname, date of admission into statehood and order rank it became a part of the United States, and state population and size rank. What is the state bird, state flower, state tree, state animal, state gem, state insect, state fish, and state reptile. Are there more state symbols that you can find?

1. * With the information found in requirement #1, create a collage of pictures that represent as many state symbols as you can. Research and find 10 famous celebrities that are from Florida and add pictures of them to your collage as well. Share your collage with your group and show what you have learned.

   3. Everglades National Park – Become a National Junior Park Ranger. Find and follow the requirements to earn this patch!
   4. Key West – Spend the day on Key West taking in the sights. What famous author has a museum there? Visit it during your trip.
