Requirements
1. Does your county have a fair? Do you have a State Fair in your state? Look both up on the internet. When is each held? What events are held at each fair that you would like to attend?
2. Attend a fair. Ride on a ride. Eat fair food. Attend a demonstration or performance held at this fair. Walk through three types of exhibits (e.g. art, photography, food, plants).
3. What is 4-H? How is 4-H involved with your county or state fair? Talk to someone involved in 4-H. What are some projects or activities that 4-H members can do or learn about?
4. Enter something at a fair. What did you receive for exhibiting? Share about your experience with other girls.
5. Walk through the animal exhibits at the fair. How many different types of animals do you see? Choose one type of animal--count the number of breeds of that animal at this fair. Ask an exhibitor how their animal will be judged. Watch some judging.
6. Visit http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/app/nau_links.htm and/or http://www.learner.org/exhibits/parkphysics/index.html. Learn about the physics behind one ride (e.g. bumper cars and the law of interaction), then, if possible, go on that ride.
7. Design a ride, using paper, a computer program or a video game. Be sure your ride is safe!
8. Look up the World Fair on the internet. When/where is the next World Fair being held? Find at least two World Fair attractions that are still standing for people to visit. If possible, visit one.
