1. Create a timeline of the important events/interesting events of the medieval times (sometimes called the Middle Ages) Brownies: 5; Juniors: 8; C/S/A 12
2. Maidens. Who are they? What did they do? How were they regarded/treated? What is chivalry?
3. Famous maidens. Who are some of the famouts maidens? Why are they famous? Brownies: 3; Juniors: 5; C/S/A: 8
4. What is a coat of arms? How/Why would they change? Design one for you/your family?
5. What were castles? Meaning? Purpose? How were they constructed? Design/Construct your own.
6. How did clothing vary for people in various classes? Dress as someone from a class and have friends/troop members dress as a different one and pretend you all lived during the Medieval times.
7. Food. How does food now differ from Medieval times? What has changed? Find a recipe from the Medieval Times and either try to make it or alter it to the current times.
8. Armor. What is it? Who used it? How was it used? How was it made?
9. Volunteer at a local Medieval Faire/Festival or put on a show with some friends/troop to include: jester, mime, troubadour, minstrel, etc. at least 10.
10. Interview someone who performs at Medieval Faires. What do they make? How do they get paid? Do they have to train/practice? Why do they do it?
11. Music. What kind of music did they have? Instruments? Types of songs? Listen to some of it. Maybe try to recreate some.
12. Education. What was education like? Compare it to your education/school? What do you think is better? Why?
13. Visit a museum and take a guided tour of a Medieval times section.
